It's been a busy crafting week in our house so I have a couple of projects to share with you today. The first is my new craft project for B:Kids - Children's Totem Poles.
They're made from large postage tubes, coloured paint and coloured paper and are a perfect for creating entertainment.
Hunter thoroughly enjoyed making his "scary statue pole" and then had lots of fun playing with them, pretending to be a "scary monster".
You can find the complete instructions (and additional photographs) over at B:Kids.
Hunter also had fun creating animals using the My First Scissors Kit. The kit cleverly uses scissors designed for small hands and patterned paper complete with templates to encourage pre schoolers to be creative. Such a great idea.
You can see my full write up about this kit over at the Creativity for Kids blog, which includes a photo of me as a child.
(Full disclosure: We received a complimentary My First Scissors Kit for this product review.)
I wish I had this idea when I was an art teacher. My fourth and fifth grade boys would have loved this!
So clever!
