It's no secret I love great design. It's one of the reasons writing this blog brings me so much joy. Every day, I'm greeted by emails from companies introducing me to their wares and it's so lovely to see what they are making and hear their stories.
One product that really caught my eye is Klinko's 3-in-1 little frog. One of the reasons I particularly love this project is because of it's origins. This fabulous design was created by Chadwick and Joe; a designer and a production manager from Beijing, China. They're passionate. They're independent. And they're trying to get their fabulous project off the ground.
The Klinko 3-in-1 chair comes pre-assembled and is a playtable, lounge chair and reading chair with armrests. Clever, clever, clever.
A separate accessory also adds a rocking chair function and pencil tray to the unit.
If that wasn't enough, two Little Frogs also connect to make a toy box and will be available in five colours.
Chadwick and Joe are currently asking for $40,000 in funding on Kickstarter. You can pledge as little as $1 to help their project, but if you pledge over $100 you will also receive one of the first Klinko 3-in-1s. (Which will retail for $135 when produced.)
So many of us who love great design understand the importance of supporting small companies but often never have an opportunity to do so. You now do.
