Mike is an accomplished guitarist and is always saying he wants H to play the drums so they can start a band. (I'm perfectly comfortable with the idea, as long as he also builds a soundproof room to rehearse in.)
This DIY project may be the perfect way for them start to their band. Made from old crates and paint tins, this drum kit is bound to be music to the ears of any young child. You can find the complete instructions here.

The memories of that kiddie drum kits from my childhood brought out the musician in me, which carried over 'til now. I've been learning in playing my brass drums for almost a year now, and I'm on the process of learning the music theory and learning how to seamlessly read music sheets. Whenever I have confidence on my current abilities, I usually try to make a cover of the songs I love.

That would be a good toy for your kids. A handmade drum kit. They will be having fun as they smash the drumstick on to the drum and start making some noise. Who knows they can be a drummer someday.
