Yesterday, our precious baby boy turned two. He's currently crazy about dinosaurs so to celebrate, we threw him a prehistoric party.
Early on in the preparations for H's party I decided to make all of the party elements myself, including the cake. It's just a simple frosted vanilla cake decorated with ribbon and paper bunting.
I also hand made dinosaur party hats from sheets of card & thin elastic.
To set the scene, large dinosaur footprints greeted children as they walked up our front path.
The dessert table had cupcakes, mini meringues, chocolate bars wrapped in coordinating paper and two glass vases filled with grapes.
We served food in the shape of dinosaurs (think T-Rex fairy bread and triceratop mini pizzas) and also had a BBQ - we're Aussies after all.
Cupcakes featured dinosaur toppers and straws were decorated with Hunter's age.
Each child took home a treat bag personalised with the first letter of their name. The older children were given mini chocolate 'dinosaur' eggs, crayons, a selection of sweets and toy dinosaurs.
H had a fabulous day, made even more special by sharing it with the people we love. My distinct lack of photographs from the day is a bit of a disappointment, but always an indication of the fun we had.

Thank you to Amy Atlas and Sarah Hicks Malone for featuring H's party.
If you'd like instructions for any of the elements I created, send me an email, I'll be happy to share them with you.
UPDATE: Thank you all for your lovely emails regarding Hunter's party. I've received many requests for information regarding the projects created here. To best answer your questions, I've decided to create a series of 'How To' posts that will include photo instructions. You'll find them here next week.

I just love the theme and the detail you went to. Everything was so well coordinated and looked so aestehtically pleasing to the eye. Such fun for a two year old.

Happy Birthday little guy! By the amount of gift bags it looks like you had a full house for the party. I hope it was a lot of fun. Saya's birthday is coming up next month, and I have been really inspired by your blog, but I'm not sure I can come up with something as gorgeous as your party. (Your son is adorable by the way!)
